Christmas morning, 1981,
opening presents, everyone's having fun.

son I got you that brand new Atari.

I waited for days, yeah, I waited for months, yeah,
but it was no show. There was no Atari, no.

Eventually I broke down, asked how it could be.
You stole that Christmas present now, from underneath my tree.

How could you do this to your own son? These promises in vain.
You kept that money for yourself, and shot it in your veins, oh yeah.

There was no Atari, no brand new Atari, 2600.
I got no Atari, no brand new Atari, 2600.
It sat in a warehouse, or some other kid's house, hell if I know where.
No "Combat" or "Pac-Man" or "Adventure".
